When MVP Health Plan had decided it was time to build a central facility, they turned to BBL. Prior to moving into their new facility, MVP had been functioning throughout three separate locations within the community. BBL recognized the inefficiencies in this arrangement and approached them with a detailed centralized business and facilities development plan. This not only provided MVP with the perfect solution for their logistic problems and future growth, but it also kept MVP in the home of their birth – Schenectady, New York. The task of designing a structure to house a corporation of MVP’s magnitude provided its own challenges. The building had to be efficient in design and scale, yet accommodate the latest innovations in communications, technology and construction methods. Great care was given to blending the modern appearance  with a historic atmosphere to create a structure that would accentuate its surroundings. A granite lower floor facade, dynamic curved window wall and pedestrian friendly scale helps promote interaction and a center of community activity.
