Living Resources Smart House

Living Resources contracted with BBL to build a prototype, state-of-the-art Smart House, the first of its kind in New York State. The Smart House accommodates 6 individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities and frail elderly to provide an innovative, barrier-free environment that promotes independence and quality of life. The Smart house is a living environment using alerts and a secure web portal to foster independence and a support system of sensors to track activities and report problems. The featured technology components in the home include home systems management monitoring; fire safety system; safety sensors; smart pads; interconnected communication and entertainment systems; motion sensors; telehealth integration; GPS watch; and AbleLink software with picture-driven menus. In addition to the extensive state-of-the-art technology offered in the SMART House, it will boasts energy efficiency and sustainability.
