City Station

College Suites at City Station was constructed in three phases near Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The new mixed-used buildings include apartment style student housing for graduate students and married students with families. The buildings feature retail space on the first floor and also offer off-street parking in a garage adjacent to the East building.

The project has transformed the once vacant lots and abandoned buildings into a thriving urban setting for graduate students within walking distance to the RPI campus.

West – Phase I
City Station is a new student housing and retail block in downtown Troy. The first floor features retail space to fit the existing city dynamic. The second through fifth floors provide apartment-style student housing for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The design by QPK Design of Syracuse, complements the existing historic landscape of the City of Troy.

South – Phase II
The second phase of City Station is a 51,515 square foot graduate student family housing apartment community. The 82 bed facility is comprised of 33 (1) bed units, 14 (2) bed units and 7 (3) bed units and includes a Community Room with a Kitchen, two TV Lounge Areas and an outdoor patio and playground area. There is also 24 hour security and controlled parking for the residents.

The building has a Steel “H” pile foundation on pile caps and grade beams with wood framed, panelized construction. The exterior is an EFIS façade and EPDM insulated flat roof.

East – Phase III
The third project for this multi-phased development consists of a mixed-use residential and retail building and a 187 car parking structure. The 157 bed student housing community features fully furnished apartments with laundry facilities in each unit, a common area with multiple TVs, pool table and vending. The parking structure is located behind the project and allows direct access into the building.

North – Phase IV
The fourth project at City Station includes construction of a 129,000 square foot, four-story apartment building with offices and lower-level parking garage space.
